Asphalt QC Lab Technician at CRH

We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Technician to join our team in the South region of Florida, which includes the Orlando area. Candidates will need to travel within South Florida to various asphalt facilities, with occasional travel to the North and Central regions. The technician performs routine testing of Hot Mix Asphalt and assists in adjustments to plant settings to ensure compliance with job or agency specifications.

• Perform daily QC testing on Hot Mix Asphalt as required by governing agencies and at the discretion of the QC Manager.
• Collect and prepare samples.
• Collect data and produce reports.
• Assist in mix design development and changes in plant production.
• Analyze stockpile materials for incoming aggregates and RAP.

• Ability to perform strenuous work.
• Basic materials handling skills.
• Good penmanship, record keeping, and basic computer skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instruction.
• Effective communication over the company radio.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, percentages, and weight calculations.
• Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals.
• Ability to use measuring devices.
• Availability to work nights and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license for the territory of operation.
• At least six months experience in asphalt quality control; FDOT Asphalt Level I & II training preferred but not required.
