Job Description

A Bartender is responsible for taking food and beverage orders; entering orders quickly and in proper sequence; serving food and beverages for guests at the bar and tables in the restaurant, if required; coordinating with the kitchen to ensure timely service and quality of the food; and providing the highest quality of service to the customer at all times; performing all other responsibilities as directed by the business or as assigned by management.

Responsibilities
  • Takes food and beverage orders, places orders, delivers orders, checks back after delivery of food and beverage to ensure guest satisfaction, observes guests to respond to any additional needs
  • Maintains bar and table appearance by pre-bussing, checks drink levels, removes clutter and provides adequate napkins
  • Presents check for payment, processes payments, and provides change as needed
  • Stocks and organizes bar as required
  • Ensures friendly welcoming service at all times
  • Processes payments via POS register system
  • Follows customer service, adult beverage, and cash handling policies and procedures
  • Keeps assigned station clean, sets up and takes down station tables appropriately
  • Any and all duties assigned by management
Minimum Requirements

  • Must meet state minimum age for serving alcoholic beverages
  • Must have at least 6 months of closely related bartending/serving experience
  • Work experience in high volume or fast casual dining restaurant environment preferred
  • Must be able to pass required state food safety certification requirements
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment testing (e.g., drug test, background check, etc.)
  • Must have full availability and be able to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Ability to read, write and speak English (multi‑lingual a plus)
  • Ability to understand, follow and give written and oral instructions
  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with guests
  • Ability to interact with guests and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner
  • Ability to work harmoniously with fellow employees and guests
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  • Follow all company policies and procedures
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation
  • Ability to speak with others using clear and professional language
  • Skills to develop and maintain positive working relationships with others
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 20 lbs
  • Ability to walk, bend, twist, and stand for up to 8 hours per day to perform normal job functions
  • Ability to frequently immerse hands in water and water diluted with chemical solutions
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors, including prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures
