As a Shortage Control Associate (SCA), you will observe store entrances, exits, and high‑risk areas to deter theft and create a safe shopping environment. Your presence, professional appearance, and confident greeting reinforce our security programs and support the overall customer experience.

• Maintain a command presence and professional appearance at all times, following the company dress standards.
• Stand at the front of the store, remain vigilant, and greet every customer with a warm, friendly greeting.
• Monitor the entrance throughout the shift, focusing on reducing opportunities for theft, shoplifting, and other dishonest activities.
• Communicate theft prevention information during store rallies and collaborate with the Manager on Duty.
• Conduct bag and package checks on store and corporate associates to ensure adherence to security standards.
• Identify and report theft incidents or suspicious activity to the Manager on Duty promptly.
• Provide support in training associates on shortage reduction programs and processes, role‑modeling safety as a top priority.
• Analyze and comprehend business trends related to security and loss prevention.

• 1+ years’ experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, asset protection, loss prevention, or operations (preferred).
• Ability to stand, walk, and visually monitor the store environment for extended periods.
• Strong communication skills with customers and co‑workers; ability to exhibit a positive demeanor and energetic greeting.
• Excellent leadership and disciplinary decision‑making skills suitable for a high‑pressure environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and keep detailed focus on tasks.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Competitive wage of $14 per hour. Part‑time associates may be eligible for Burlington’s benefits package (medical coverage, 401(k) plan), paid time off, holidays, and sick leave in accordance with applicable law.
