The Security Supervisor serves as the first-line leader for the Security Department and is responsible for protecting the resort, its guests, employees, and visitors. This role plans, supervises, and directs the daily activities of Security Officers under the guidance of the Department Manager. In addition, the Security Supervisor assists with training newly hired security associates and, in partnership with the Security Manager, ensures consistency and continuity in training for all new team members.

Functions and Tasks
  • Conduct physical inspections of all posts and patrols to ensure compliance with job requirements, communicate daily officer orders, and confirm resort entrances and restricted areas are properly secured.
  • Provide on-the-job training and additional instruction to Security Officers as needed; perform Field Training Officer duties, including evaluating probationary officers’ performance.
  • Act as first responder to guest and employee accidents or injuries; administer first aid, contact emergency services when necessary, complete First Reports of Injury, and assist with employee drug and alcohol testing when appropriate.
  • Conduct preliminary investigations under the direction of the Security Manager and prepare, review, and submit written incident reports related to resort activity.
  • Issue, receive, and account for security equipment, including radios, master keys, vehicles, flashlights, and other operational tools.
  • Communicate new orders and directives during roll call and inspection briefings.
  • Supervise and direct prompt Security Officer response to Code One and other emergency procedures; assist the Security Manager with emergency management when on duty.
  • Recommend operational improvements through the supervisory chain to enhance productivity and cost effectiveness.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Assist the Security Manager with supervision of all shift activities as needed.
  • Complete accurate reports and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Identify, monitor, and report safety vulnerabilities or hazards.
  • Partner with resort management to resolve safety and security concerns effectively.
  • Provide ongoing mentoring and training to ensure an efficient, proactive, and service-oriented security team.
  • Respond effectively to all security-related situations while prioritizing the safety of guests and the resort.
  • Empower security personnel by promoting collaboration and confidence in resolving guest concerns.
  • Lead by example by setting high standards and fostering excellence within the department.
Qualifications
  • Ability to produce clear, detailed written reports describing incidents and events.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to convey information effectively to guests and employees.
  • Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to make timely decisions under pressure.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to maintaining departmental and resort performance standards.
  • Professional, mature demeanor with a positive attitude.
  • Working knowledge of the criminal justice system and applicable state criminal codes.
Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma plus one year of college or equivalent experience. College or additional education may be waived at the discretion of the Director of Security and Human Resources based on qualifications or experience.
  • Minimum of two years of resort or hotel experience, or three years of professional security experience requiring strong customer service skills.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Must obtain and maintain current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications and provide medical assistance when required.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, and reach with hands and arms; may also be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must exercise sound judgment when addressing issues, develop creative solutions, and take initiative to complete tasks.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
