TITLE: Academy Video Analyst

DEPARTMENT: Soccer Operations

REPORTS TO: Head of Video and Performance Analysis

FLSA: Full-Time;
Non-Exempt

What sets you apart

The Academy Video Analyst will use the applicant’s keen eye and deep knowledge of soccer to develop video content that helps the Academy coaching staff analyze their team and individual performances. In addition, this position will assist with the preparation of opposing teams through watching matches and providing a technical analysis regarding the opposition’s pattern of play.

Essential duties & responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee the day-to-day video analysis needs for MLS Next teams.
  • Oversee the Spiideo platform and all video analysis accounts for day-to-day MLS Next recordings of training and matches.
  • Work with the MLS Next coaching staff for day-to-day video needs as it relates to training, pre, during, and post-match analysis.
  • Work with the MLS Next coaching staff for day-to-day video needs as it relates to player development.
  • Create video opposition reports as requested by the MLS Next coaching staff.
  • Create pre- and post-match video analysis reports analyzing the team’s performance as requested by MLS Next coaching staff.
  • Stay up-to-date and assess new video methods and technologies and make recommendations for new equipment and process enhancements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in sports management or analytics.
  • 2+ years of progressive experience in sports.
  • A strong understanding of the major league soccer industry and international soccer.
  • Ability to multi-task, stay well organized and prioritize and execute without close supervision.
  • Able and willing to travel as required.
  • Enthusiastic and energetic team player.
  • Ability to communicate in a direct, open, and honest manner while providing timely and professional customer service.
  • Ability to relate professionally to all levels of staff, management, players etc.
  • Able and willing to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays in non-traditional settings, within a team atmosphere.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, trilingual in Portuguese strongly preferred.
  • Strong work ethic and friendly demeanor.
  • Knowledge of the game of soccer and Orlando City SC.
  • Well organized, attentive to detail while possessing and ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Ability to work productively under pressure and be consistently proactive.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, G-Suite and all Microsoft applications.
About Orlando City SC & Orlando Pride

In November 2013, Orlando City Soccer Club was awarded a Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise, becoming the league’s 21st franchise. The team began play in March 2015, with 62,510 fans packing the then-Orlando Citrus Bowl for the Club’s MLS debut.

The Lions have reached the postseason in five-consecutive seasons (2020-24), qualified for the Concacaf Champions Cup (formerly Concacaf Champions League) in both 2023 and 2024, and reached their first final in 2020 during the MLS is Back Tournament.
