Role Overview
Communitech brings people together to build and scale great tech companies. Our events are a key part of how we connect the ecosystem, share ideas, and create meaningful experiences for founders, builders, and partners across Waterloo Region.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Events, we’re looking for an Events Coordinator to support the execution of high-quality events that bring this community to life. This is a hands‑on, delivery‑focused role suited for someone early in their career who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow in a fast‑paced environment.

You will be part of a team that values collaboration, ownership, and a willingness to jump in wherever needed. You take pride in getting the details right, stay calm under pressure, and bring a positive, team‑first mindset to everything you do.

This role is based in‑office five days per week to support the hands‑on nature of event execution and team collaboration. Given the nature of events, some early mornings and evenings are required, and flexibility in working hours is essential.

What You’ll Be Doing

Support the planning and execution of events from concept to completion

Coordinate event logistics including venue management, collateral, vendors, signage and onsite documents

Act as a key point of contact for vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders

Manage the event registration portal and collaborate with internal teams to gather and input information for registrations and tracking

Assist with event communications, including invitations, confirmations, and follow‑ups

Track event details, timelines, and deliverables to ensure everything runs smoothly

Manage the events inbox and respond to attendee inquiries

Support sponsor and partner deliverables tied to events and marketing initiatives

Provide on‑site event support to ensure a seamless and positive attendee experience

Support post‑event activities such as feedback collection and reporting

Jump in to support broader team priorities as needed

This job description is not intended to be exhaustive. Responsibilities and duties may evolve based on organizational needs.

Post‑secondary education in hospitality/events/marketing preferred

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

A proactive, can‑do attitude and willingness to help wherever needed

A team‑first mindset with a focus on collective success

A willingness to learn and grow in a fast‑paced environment

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently to manage multiple priorities and stay calm under pressure

A genuine interest in events, community‑building, and creating great experiences

What Success Looks Like
