Applicants Will Be Considered In The Following Order:
- Qualified permanent ESS/OSSTF Bargaining Unit employees.

Reporting to the Principal and following the "Best Practices and Guidelines" related to library circulation and collection maintenance as outlined by ITS Library and Resource Services, this position is responsible for performing clerical duties in the elementary school library. The library clerk will play an important role by encouraging the love of reading and providing access to resources for learning, and promoting use of resources in print and digital formats.
Position:
Temporary Educational Support Staff Level C working 16 hours per week, 10 months per year, effective August 31, 2026 to July 6, 2027. (Hours of Work: TBD)
- Charging, discharging, shelving and repairing loaned materials.
- Assisting staff and students in the use of the library and locating resources using the integrated library system.
- Handling overdues, statistical records and correspondence.
- Filing and processing new materials, Ministry software, etc.
- Monitoring library automation hardware and audiovisual equipment and accessories.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Secondary school graduation diploma required.
- At least one year of clerical experience required, preferably in a library. For THR Library Clerks:
Insignia Library Fundamentals basic training and library experience required. - Preferred: completion of Insignia Advanced training session covering library fundamentals, circulation management, search and discover, and online library support.
- Well-developed keyboarding skills.
- Ability to learn new software applications and adapt to the changing nature of school libraries.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students and staff.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to perform the physical demands of the job including stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching above shoulder level, standing for extended periods, and lifting, pushing, pulling objects up to 50 pounds with assistance.
