Position: Daily Occasional Teachers
Overview
The Waterloo Catholic District School Board serves over 30,000 learners and provides services to students in 50 schools (Kindergarten to Grade 12 and adult learners) across the Waterloo Region. The Board conducts intentional recruitment and selection as it seeks to achieve a state of greater equity for employees and students and to diversify its workforce. Qualifications

We invite applicants that meet ONE of the following criteria:

Qualified Ontario College of Teacher (OCT) Educators in Good Standing

New Faculty of Education Graduate from 2025 and you are awaiting your OCT Number

New Faculty of Education Graduate that will be graduating in 2026

Internationally Trained educators who have achieved their Ontario College of Teacher accreditation

Working knowledge of the Ontario Catholic Graduate Expectations, Ethical Standards for the Teaching Profession, and the Standards of Practice for the Teaching Profession

A practicing Catholic with a strong and active Catholic Faith life

Proficient knowledge & understanding of Ontario curriculum, evaluation & assessment techniques

Current in understanding of research, integrating technology and best instructional practices

Effective classroom management skills and ability to create a welcoming and safe Catholic learning environment for all students

Most recent teacher performance appraisal summative reports OR practice teaching reports (if applicable)

Optional Preferred Documents

Catholic Pastoral Reference form –  for the

A Pastoral Reference is not required at time of application. You will be provided with up to 24 months from date of hire to a permanent position to provide the pastoral reference documentation. The Board team will provide support resources to staff during their employment experience.
