Become an Educational Assistant Level D with the Waterloo Region District School Board. This role emphasizes supporting special needs students in an extended day before school environment.
The WRDSB, serving over 65,000 students, seeks external applicants and current EA Association members for this Long Term Occasional assignment. Candidates must possess suitable qualifications such as an Educational Assistant Diploma, Bachelor's in Social Work, or relevant experience in child-related disciplines. You’ll be required to work closely with students and demonstrate commitment to their growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support special needs children in the classroom
• Assist in creating a welcoming learning environment
• Facilitate student engagement and participation
• Implement strategies for behavioral management
• Collaborate with educators to enhance student learning
Requirements:
• Pass the Physical Demands test
• Relevant diploma or degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum one year of experience supporting special needs
• Certification in Behaviour Management Systems preferred
• CPR and First Aid certification required
