Senior Hardware Integration Developer and Test Lead

The Senior HW Integration Developer and Test Lead is responsible for developing medical device hardware under the technical direction of the Hardware Architect. This role leads hardware verification activities by defining verification tests, creating verification plans, assigning testing tasks, and ensuring completion of verification activities to meet product specifications and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Support the Hardware Architect in developing and testing medical device hardware systems including FPCB design, sensor specification, electro-acoustic systems, and circuit simulation
Provide technical project leadership for assigned hardware development projects
Coordinate project activities and responsibilities across team members
Perform testing and verification of hearing instruments including EA, EMC, magnetic, wireless, and audio quality aspects
Provide feedback to Requirement Engineering regarding specification testability
Report project status and technical progress to the Manager and Hardware Architect
Support additional engineering tasks as assigned
More about you:
Engineering degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Biomedical Engineering, or Physics
10+ years of experience as a Senior Hardware Developer in a medical device engineering environment
Strong understanding of acoustics and analog/digital electronics
Experience with FPCB design (Altium preferred) and acoustic modeling is an asset
Strong collaboration, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to lead and coach junior engineers
A minimum of 200
Mb/sec download and 10
Mb/sec upload speed internet connectivity is required to support any remote/hybrid employee functionality at Sonova
