We are seeking an experienced Principal Structural Geologist to join a leading mining consultancy in Ontario. This senior‑level role will work with a multidisciplinary team on technically challenging projects across Canada and internationally, combining technical leadership with client relationship management, mentorship, and business development.
Key Responsibilities- Lead belt‑to‑deposit‑scale structural analysis and interpretation of mineralized systems.
- Provide structural geology expertise for projects from early‑stage exploration through resource studies, engineering studies, and operational mine support.
- Undertake and oversee field‑based structural analysis, geological mapping, and drill‑core interpretation.
- Apply advanced 3D geological modelling and geophysical interpretation techniques.
- Develop practical and technically robust solutions for complex geological challenges.
- Prepare, review, and contribute to technical reports, presentations, proposals, and project deliverables.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams on Canadian and international mining projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Identify and support new consulting opportunities as the practice grows.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and intermediate consultants.
- Travel within Canada and internationally as required for project work.
- A postgraduate degree specializing in structural geology, ideally with a focus on ore deposits; a PhD is an asset.
- Extensive applied structural geology experience within mineral exploration, mining operations, or consulting.
- Strong field‑based experience conducting belt‑to‑deposit‑scale structural analysis and interpreting mineralized systems.
- A solid theoretical background combined with the ability to develop practical, commercially focused solutions.
- Experience using GIS and 3D geological modelling software.
- Professional registration, or eligibility to obtain registration in Canada.
- An established network within the mining industry.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage projects, support client relationships, and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and an interest in mentoring developing professionals.
- Previous experience within a mining consultancy.
- Business‑development experience and an established client network.
- Experience interpreting geophysical data.
- Proficiency with modern implicit modelling tools such as Leapfrog.
- Exposure to a range of mineral deposit types, commodities, and international jurisdictions.
- Experience developing proposals, scopes of work, budgets, and project plans.
