Control Systems Engineer - Project Lead

Control Systems Engineer – Project Lead position at Brock Solutions, Kitchener, ON.

The role involves designing, programming, integrating, troubleshooting, and supporting automated control systems for industrial and transportation clients.

• Control system design
• PLC programming
• Electrical design review
• Design of Human‑Machine Interfaces (HMIs)
• Troubleshooting electrical, PLC, and HMI systems
• Interfacing with real‑time database applications to manage critical production information
• Supporting project proposals and estimation
• Reviewing customer documentation
• Preparing functional specifications
• Creating schedules
• Training new team members
• Assisting with equipment selection and procurement
• Site commissioning and installation
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Project Manager

• Ability to problem solve
• 3+ years working with PLCs (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens)
• Experience with Ladder Logic
• 2+ years experience leading controls engineering teams
• Knowledge of HMIs (e.g., Ignition, Factory Talk)
• Ability to read electrical schematics
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Understanding of industrial environments
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to mentor and guide others
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Design, Automation, Industrial Engineering or an equivalent college diploma
• Ability to complete all required security clearance procedures
• Eligibility to obtain a TN visa for work in the United States
• Willingness to travel up to 40% of the year
