Structural Engineering Intern​/co op

Position: Structural Engineering Intern/co op )
AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern/co‑op to be based in the Kitchener, ON office. This is a newly created position.
Responsibilities   Structural modelling with Midas Civil.
On‑site structure inspections.
Design for municipal infrastructure using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or Micro Station.
Shop drawing review.
Inspect all phases of construction to ensure that the work is carried out in accordance with specifications regarding material requirements, alignment, grade, finish, compaction, etc.
Document site conditions, equipment, material installations, quantities, and the work being performed by the contractor.
Confirm that all onsite testing during installation are in conformance with the contract specifications.
Ensure deficiencies are corrected prior to acceptance of the work.
Ensure overall data quality and integrity.
Prepare documentation for design projects and reports.
Undertake quality control procedures.
Assure that engineering related issues are promptly relayed to the project manager for action and follow up to assure timeliness of resolution efforts.
Qualifications   Minimum:
Candidates must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with intent to continue attendance following internship. Completed 2 years of study.
Preferred:
Interest in Roads and Bridges, previous Bridge Engineering Co‑op, Structural Modeling Experience, Field Experience.

Compensation  CAD 25 – CAD 27 per hour.
