Its MX‑series systems provide stabilized high‑magnification electro‑optical and infrared images from airborne, marine, and ground‑based platforms, enabling customers to see first and act first.
- Provide project leadership and technical guidance for internally and externally funded product developments.
- Coordinate, prepare for, and lead the presentation of design stage‑gate packages.
- Align cross‑functional development teams to execute the New Product Introduction (NPI) company standard process.
- Present to various levels of cross‑functional leadership in design reviews and business meetings.
- Develop and maintain project risk registers, including mitigation plans, and drive closure of risk actions.
- Provide project forecasts and maintain adherence to project budgets and schedules.
- Use JIRA and other project tools for Earned Value Management reporting.
- Maintain project schedules to align with integrated master schedule milestones and customer contract deliverables.
- Participate in and support the bids and proposal/sales process by providing engineering inputs, including feasibility, NRE, risks, and schedule estimates for new products or features.
- Lead project scrums and be closely involved in material shortage and build meetings.
- Understand and communicate the cause and effect of changes affecting schedule, quality, and cost.
- Coordinate engineering changes and lead Enterprise Change Assessment (ECA) technical pillar through the change process.
- Lead department‑strategic goal alignment projects as needed.
- Understand and comply with the company Quality Management System.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including MS Project.
- Robust technical communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent project organization and planning skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining and growing relationships with stakeholders.
- Understanding of electro/mechanical/optical/video systems.
- Knowledge/experience using Atlassian Confluence/JIRA.
- Working knowledge of root cause analysis or reliability techniques (5‑Why, Cause Map, 8D, FMEA).
- A sense of urgency; dynamic, resourceful, innovative, and initiative‑driven.
- Working knowledge of mechanical design, bill‑of‑material structures, and mechanical design terminology.
- Working knowledge of electrical circuit design, circuit board assemblies, and electrical design terminology.
- Working knowledge of feedback control systems, video standards, grounding/bonding practices, motors/potentiometers/encoders, and other electro‑mechanical devices.
- Working knowledge of optical assemblies, cameras, and laser devices is an asset.
- Knowledge of AS9100 Quality Standard.
- Engineering degree and experience in aerospace industry preferred.
- Experience designing mechanical, electrical, electro‑optical, software/firmware systems or subsystems.
- Experience presenting technical project content to senior leadership stakeholders.
- Well‑rounded project management background with experience in a highly technical environment.
- PMP certification is an asset.
- P. Eng license is an asset.
Bachelor's Degree and minimum six years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree with a minimum of four years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of ten years of prior related experience is required.
Pay range (Ontario, Canada): $102,000 to $152,000.
