Description
• Engineering site inspection on wastewater construction projects for quality control and adherence with applicable provincial standards, engineering design and technical specifications.
• Document construction site activities (keeping a detailed daily report log, taking photos, performing survey checks, and recording as-built conditions) and identify and monitor deficiencies.
• Provide problem resolution and field solutions with respect to unforeseen construction issues and participate in construction progress meetings.
• Arrange on-site geotechnical investigations and material testing (for concrete, granular materials, and asphalt) and coordinate with Engineering for specialist inspections.
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act on construction sites; ensure proper Ministry and project procedures are followed to ensure public/pedestrian safety.
• Liaise with clients, regulatory inspectors, various utility companies, residents, and other stakeholders as required

Additional Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of wastewater treatment or pump station construction inspection experience. Water treatment plant construction experience in addition to wastewater treatment. Engineering designation ( or CET/ certification. Background as a Water/Wastewater Process Engineer transitioning into construction oversight. Experience coordinating geotechnical investigations and material testing. Experience with commissioning and startup of treatment systems. Familiarity with instrumentation and controls (I&C) within treatment facilities.
Experience on large municipal treatment plant upgrades or expansions. Surveying and as-built verification experience. Previous experience leading inspections across multiple disciplines (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, I&C).
