Join the Planning, Building & Development Services as a Zoning Examiner focused on permit review and compliance in our community. Analyze applications per Zoning By-laws and contribute to important decision-making processes.
This full-time role is vital for enforcing municipal regulations. The Zoning Examiner will evaluate development and building permits, ensuring they meet all regulatory guidelines and provide expert zoning interpretations. Your analytical skills will be essential, as you prepare reports, collect data, and issue conformity statements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review development and building permit applications for compliance
• Issue zoning verification and prepare zoning interpretations
• Collect data and assist in report preparation
• Analyze complex maps, site plans, and drawings
• Collaborate with the Manager of Policy and Heritage Planning
Requirements:
• Degree or diploma in Planning, Geography, or related field
• Minimum one year experience with Planning Act applications
• Knowledge of Zoning By-laws and relevant legislation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital permit systems
• Strong analytical and communication skills
