Laboratory Assistant

The team at Spruce Grove Patient Care Services (PSC), is looking to add a highly engaged, enthusiastic, and outgoing Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team in this fast-paced, public-facing location. Here you will have the opportunity to work both independently and as a member of our team where you will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions, including phlebotomy, ECG’s and monitoring wait times to ensure you are providing the best service to your  this role you will be the first contact that patients have with the laboratory.

Weekdays 7.7 hrs shifts between the hours of  hrs. One in three Saturdays worked at Spruce Grove PSC 7.75 hrs between the hours . Spruce Grove is primary site with occasional coverage for Evansburg and Breton. Due to the location, access to reliable personal transportation is required as some of the possible work sites do not have access to public transportation.

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.

Previous Phlebotomy experience and ECG certification.

At least 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience.

ECG experience.
