Recreation Worker

Position: Full-Time Recreation Worker
Enhance the lives of seniors as a Recreation Worker at Age Care in Kitchener, Ontario. This full-time role focuses on planning and facilitating engaging recreational activities for residents.

Age Care seeks a dedicated Recreation Worker to support seniors in a long-term care setting. The position involves developing and executing meaningful recreation and leisure activities that promote well-being and community connections. You will communicate effectively with residents, their families, and volunteers to foster a supportive environment while observing and documenting residents' engagement in activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning and implementing daily recreation activities

• Create and maintain an engaging environment for residents

• Facilitate connections with families and community groups

• Report on changes in resident participation abilities

• Lead evaluation processes for the recreation program

Requirements:

• Experience working with seniors in long-term care

• Graduate or enrolled in recreation studies or a related field

• Background in health care with recreation service experience

• Proven ability in therapeutic programming techniques

• Skill in fostering resident engagement and participation
