Manager, IT Infrastructure and Cyber Security

Location: Waterloo

Our client is seeking a full-time, hybrid (2-3 days/week in Waterloo, ON) Manager of IT Infrastructure & Cybersecurity ($95k-$115k + 5% bonus).

Leading a high-performing team of 3, you will act as a hands-on "player-coach" driving our digital transformation to a secure, cloud-first environment.

Protect sensitive patient data, oversee multi-site networking, and handle L3 escalations to directly empower Ontario’s frontline healthcare workers.

Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
Manage, mentor, and develop a technical team of 3 specializing in Security, Workplace, and Telecom.

Security &

Infrastructure: Own the cybersecurity roadmap (Crowd Strike, Entra , patching) and oversee WAN/LAN across 40+ sites.

Cloud Architecture:
Direct the deprecation of legacy frameworks in favor of secure, scalable cloud-hosted solutions.

Vendor & Escalation Governance:
Manage third-party vendors, hardware lifecycles, and act as the ultimate L3 incident escalation point.

Qualifications

Experience:

2+ years of enterprise IT infrastructure experience in a healthcare/hospital network; past success leading teams.

Technical Stack:
Proficiency in M365, Entra , Intune, Crowd Strike, Veeam, and Cisco Meraki networking.

Logistics & Compliance:
Valid Ontario driver’s license/vehicle for occasional site travel; clear Vulnerable Sector Check.

Assets: CISSP, CISM, CCNP, or M365 Expert certifications; ITIL framework or EHR backend knowledge (e.g., Alaya Care).
