Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Operator to join our team, responsible for maintaining and operating various mechanical systems and equipment across our facilities. This role is vital to ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our operations, requiring a strong mechanical aptitude and experience with maintenance and repair tasks.

Duties

• Responsible for taking all measures necessary to manage, operate and maintain the plant in a safe operating condition.
• Schedule and coordinate all maintenance and preventative maintenance activities to ensure refrigeration equipment runs effectively
• Complete scheduled equipment and building system checks
• Perform corrective action for equipment faults as required.
• Perform refrigeration equipment checks according to TSSA, the manufacturer's specs, and Pillers requirements.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance activities when required.
• Responsible for directing, supervising and training shift operators.
• Responsible for housekeeping in the engine rooms.
• Report any food safety issues to QA immediately.
• Work in a safe manner in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act by reporting all hazards, accidents, incidents or near misses to the Supervisor.
• Follow all prescribed SOP's, HACCP and GMP procedures
• Perform all job-related duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Possess an Operator A or B certification
• Minimum 3 years experience working as a Chief Refrigeration Operator
• Valid Refrigeration Mechanic 313A or Millwright/ Electrician license considered an asset.
• Proven experience working with ammonia and glycol systems.
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints
• Must be knowledgeable in the use of Refrigeration Code and ensure properly handling of equipment and hand tools.
• Mechanical aptitude with a good knowledge of standard tools, materials, methods, and trade practices
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
