As our next CNC Setter Operator Co-op, you'll be performing the duties of the position for the production of products for our customers. Work must be done in a safe and efficient manner and comply with all Johnson Electric’s Health & Safety policies, procedures and quality systems. Working knowledge with SPS, 5S and Continuous Improvement (CI) activities are required. What You’ll Be Doing:
Ensure machines are setup to machine the required parts
Install and remove spindle chucks, collets, drawbars, spindle adaptors and cutting tools as necessary
Index cutting inserts and make size change adjustments to machines as required
Load and unload parts on machines to maintain required production levels
Chart SPC data as determined by process sheet specifications
Ensure that the requirements of the Quality Management System an Environmental Health & Safety Systems are met.
Other duties as required.
What We’re Looking For:
High School diploma or equivalent
Computer Numerical Control Machining Program Certificate in progress
Must have working knowledge of machining principles and practices
Familiar with CNC controls and programming techniques
Experience working in a manufacturing environment, in the automotive industry is an asset
Good mathematical and analytical skills
Knowledge of conventional machine methods is an asset
Good interpersonal skills. Able to work well independently or in a team environment
Good communication skills
Strong work ethic and organizational skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment while maintaining quality
Proficient in English (both spoken and written)
Work indoors. Environment can be noisy and dealing with different temperatures (i.e extreme heat)
Ability to lift a maximum of 30lbs
Work shifts may include days, afternoons, nights or continental
Ability to stand and walk for long periods at a time
Able to work overtime when required/requested
