Position: CNC Setter Operator (Co-op) - May Term (4 months))
Location: Stratford

Location: Stratford, Ontario (Onsite)

Vacancy Type: Student Co-op Position

Schedule: Full-time, May to August

Travel: Not required

As our next CNC Setter Operator Co-op, you'll be performing the duties of the position for the production of products for our customers. Work must be done in a safe and efficient manner and comply with all Johnson Electric’s Health & Safety policies, procedures and quality systems. Working knowledge with SPS, 5S and Continuous Improvement (CI) activities are required.   • What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Ensure machines are setup to machine the required parts

  • Install and remove spindle chucks, collets, drawbars, spindle adaptors and cutting tools as necessary

  • Index cutting inserts and make size change adjustments to machines as required

  • Load and unload parts on machines to maintain required production levels

  • Chart SPC data as determined by process sheet specifications

  • Ensure that the requirements of the Quality Management System an Environmental Health & Safety Systems are met.

  • Other duties as required.

  • What We’re Looking For:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Computer Numerical Control Machining Program Certificate in progress

  • Must have working knowledge of machining principles and practices

  • Familiar with CNC controls and programming techniques

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, in the automotive industry is an asset

  • Good mathematical and analytical skills

  • Knowledge of conventional machine methods is an asset

  • Good interpersonal skills. Able to work well independently or in a team environment

  • Good communication skills

  • Strong work ethic and organizational skills

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment while maintaining quality

  • Proficient in English (both spoken and written)

  • Work indoors. Environment can be noisy and dealing with different temperatures (i.e extreme heat)

  • Ability to lift a maximum of 30lbs

  • Work shifts may include days, afternoons, nights or continental

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods at a time

  • Able to work overtime when required/requested
