About the Role
As a member of the Stouffville site team, the Mill Helper will execute daily tasks of cleaning, monitoring and maintaining the Sand and Gravel Plant in accordance with Amrize Best Practices and Policies and perform all administration related to equipment maintenance. This is a night shift position.
What You'll Accomplish- Promote safety culture through engagement with employees, subcontractors and suppliers, and ensure the site meets or exceeds all Amrize and regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure that plant and surrounding site is kept safe, presentable and functional.
- Support the Environmental Department to develop, implement and manage operational standards to manage activities and mitigate environmental impact.
- Ensure assigned equipment is operated and maintained to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
- Perform daily inspections as part of a preventative maintenance program to ensure maintenance is scheduled and completed as required.
- Wash plant and equipment to remove material buildup from spillages.
- Support effective relationships within the community by participating in local activities and events.
- Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the efficient operation of the plant and site.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas, and promote a culture of safety.
- Canadian secondary school diploma or equivalent.
- Industrial plant operation and maintenance experience is an asset.
- Heavy equipment operation experience is an asset.
- Mechanical aptitude, specific mobile equipment training and forklift and skidsteer operation.
- Computer literacy is an asset.
- Action oriented, organizing, priority setting, problem solving, time management and written communication skills.
- First Aid certification.
- Surface Miner certification.
- Confined Space certification.
- Working at Heights certification.
- LOTOTO certification.
Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to pass fit tests.
