Working closely with the Plant Manager, you will combine your technical expertise and leadership skills to improve manufacturing processes, optimize productivity, and foster a positive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and support a team of production employees while promoting accountability, collaboration, and employee development.
Coordinate daily manufacturing activities to ensure production schedules and customer delivery commitments are achieved.
Apply manufacturing engineering principles to improve workflow, increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
Monitor production performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity, throughput, and overall operational effectiveness.
Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
Ensure all products meet company quality standards and customer specifications.
Partner with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Purchasing, and Shipping to resolve production concerns and improve plant performance.
Oversee labour allocation and resource planning to maximize efficiency.
Identify and document non‑conforming materials and collaborate with suppliers and internal departments to resolve quality issues.
Maintain production reports, KPIs, and other operational documentation.
Enforce company health and safety policies while promoting a clean, organized, and safe workplace.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and process optimization projects.
Assist with employee onboarding, coaching, performance management, and disciplinary actions when required.
Qualifications
Strong leadership and team‑building abilities with a hands‑on management style.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Organized with exceptional attention to detail.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, and continuous improvement practices.
Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
Education & Experience
Post‑secondary education in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering , or a related engineering discipline is required.
5+ years of manufacturing experience , including 3+ years in a supervisory or leadership role .
Experience leading production teams in a manufacturing environment.
Proven track record of implementing process improvements that improve efficiency, quality, and productivity.
Experience with in the window and door manufacturing industry is considered a strong asset.
Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Green Belt, or equivalent continuous improvement certification is an asset.
