Overhead Crane Operator; Evening shift

AGF is seeking an overhead crane operator for the evening shift (14:00 pm to 22:30 pm) at our Kitchener shop. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating the bending machine that bends rebar, ensuring precision and efficiency in the manufacturing process.

• Salary starting at $21.34/hour with salary increases based on months worked ( $23.58/hour after 3-12 months, $25.96/hour after 12-24 months, $26.95/hour after 25-35 months, and $28.27/hour after 36+ months).
• Evening premium of $1.00/h, if applicable for this position;
• An additional premium of $1/hr applies to the Overhead Crane Operator position;

• Operate mobile and tower cranes to lift, move, position, or place rebar within the production plant facility;
• Calculate crane capacity and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting;
• Perform routine maintenance work, such as cleaning and lubricating cranes;
• Demonstrate strong safety awareness by always wearing personal protective equipment, performing duties in a safe manner, and continually maintaining a clean and safe work area;
• Perform pre-operational inspection and calculate crane capacities and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting;
• Operate overhead cranes to lift, move, and place plant machinery and materials;
• Safely load and unload trucks, stack materials safely where they belong, and maintain a clean and organized work area;
• Assist machine operators, assemblers, and other team members;
• Act in compliance with AGF’s Health & Safety policies, following the Occupational Health & Safety Act;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• 1-2 years of experience in a similar role in manufacturing;
• Experience in operating an overhead OR tower crane ;
• Basic math/measurement skills (an asset);
• Ability to learn various types of manufacturing equipment;
  
  Ability to work physically - lift/move up to 50lbs;
• Willingness and capacity to work outside in varying weather conditions, and perform physical work;
• Good communication skills, Multi-tasking and a strong capacity for teamwork. #P1
