Industrial Welder Fitter Nanticoke

Industrial welding and fabrication define this permanent Welder Fitter position at Stelco in Nanticoke, Ontario, with safety as the top priority.

Reporting to the Area Manager, you will weld metals and steel, fit assemblies, and fabricate products in Stelco’s heavy industrial environment. The work requires print reading, fabrication skills, equipment operation, and material inspection. You may work independently or within a team while following established safety procedures. Rotating twelve-hour continental shifts include days, nights, weekends, and holidays, with overtime as needed.

• Identify and weld different metals and steel
• Read fabrication and civil drawings, producing rough sketches
• Operate saws, presses, torches, drills, and plasma cutters
• Fabricate, weld, fit, and assemble simple or complex structures
• Inspect materials, equipment, and finished products against specifications

• Minimum two years’ industrial fabrication experience
• Strong print reading and fabrication skills
• 456A Industrial Welder Certificate of Qualification strongly preferred
• Ability to obtain TSSA 6G certification using SMAW
• Experience with SAW, FCAW, GMAW, or TIG preferred
