HPHA seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the Inpatient Surgical Unit at Stratford General Hospital. The ideal candidate will hold a current nursing license and possess key skills in IV therapy, postoperative care, and clinical documentation. The role demands a minimum of two years of clinical experience in surgical nursing and offers unique training opportunities from Clinical Nurse Educators.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform venepuncture and initiate intravenous therapy
• Manage postoperative PCA pumps and chest tubes
• Conduct fluid and electrolyte assessments and glucose monitoring
• Educate patients on surgical procedures and care plans
• Document clinical information utilizing Meditech system
Requirements:
• Current member in good standing with the College of Nurses
• Basic Life Support certification required
• 2+ years in pre/post-operative acute care
• Knowledge in TPN and enteral feeding practices
• Strong physical assessment and organizational skills
