Temporary Part-Time Surgical Registered Nurse

Apply registered nursing expertise in Stratford’s Inpatient Surgical Unit, using surgical nursing knowledge and comprehensive clinical assessment skills. This temporary part-time position supports postoperative inpatient care.

Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance seeks a Registered Nurse for Stratford General Hospital’s Inpatient Surgical Unit. Required capabilities include venepuncture, central venous and PIC line care, medication administration, glucose monitoring, and clinical documentation using Meditech. The role also requires patient education, planning, organization, and problem solving.

• Initiate intravenous therapy through venepuncture
• Maintain, draw blood, and discontinue central venous lines
• Manage postoperative PCA pumps and TPN
• Provide enteral feeding and chest tube management
• Document clinical care using Meditech

• Current College of Nurses of Ontario registration in good standing
• Current Basic Life Support certificate
• Recent surgical nursing courses or in-services
• Physical assessment course with strong assessment skills
• Minimum two years recent related clinical experience preferred
