Apply advanced emergency nursing and primary care expertise as a full-time Nurse Practitioner at WRHN @ Queen's Blvd in Kitchener. Manage acute and chronic illness across varied shifts.
The Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner uses the full scope of practice within WRHN's Queen's Blvd Emergency Department. This position assesses patients, determines care plans, and makes clinical decisions independently or collaboratively. The practitioner also supports follow-up and discharge planning through community partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess patients in the Emergency Department
- Determine individualized plans of care
- Manage chronic and acute illness appropriately
- Collaborate with the health care team
- Coordinate community follow-up and discharge planning
- Complete a Nurse Practitioner program
- Register in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario Extended Class
- Bring three to five years of medical surgical nursing experience
- Hold current ACLS certification
- Demonstrate independent practice and strong communication skills
