Take on a key role at Dialpad as a Senior Engineer on the Tel Core team, where you will enhance telephony systems to ensure seamless audio quality for millions of users. Optimize media pipelines and mentor fellow engineers.
In this influential position, you will oversee the advancement of our media engine while ensuring the stability of our telephony stack. You’ll work closely with multiple teams to design effective call flows, tackle complex production issues, and run validation tests that reinforce scalability and resilience. Your expertise will be essential in achieving engineering excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Modernize and maintain Telephony Engine services
• Develop APIs and backend libraries for broader integration
• Focus on low-latency optimization for voice/video
• Investigate using observability tools for production issues
• Champion the Tel Core roadmap through mentorship
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years owning production backend systems
• Skilled in C/C++, Python, with real-time expertise
• Familiarity with SIP, WebRTC, RTP, and codecs
• Proficient in building reliable and observable systems
