SHUNT DRIVER
AZ DRIVER
JOB DESCRIPTION- Conestoga Meat Packers located in Breslau, Ontario is a vertically integrated processor of premium quality, fresh pork. Our Company is owned and supplied by a co-operative of over 160 Southern Ontario family farmers. All of our farmers got into the processing business because they wanted to supply the Canadian market with the same wholesome, delicious pork their own families were enjoying.
- AZ Drivers are a critical part of our success in building relationships with our customers through courteous, on-time, and accurate deliveries.
- Shunt trailers and shipping duties, as required
- Safely operate all equipment required to complete assignments
- Deliver product to customers on time and maintain a high level of customer service
- Complete all necessary paperwork, including Bills of Lading and invoices
- Complete all pre-trip inspections; identify and report any vehicle deficiencies
- Drive defensively at all times and adhere to all regulatory requirements
- Unload trailers with pump truck
- Communicate with Conestoga Meats dispatch
- The position is 4 days a week, 10 hours
- Ensures compliance with health and safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Health and Safety Manual:
- Report, and where possible, correct unsafe acts, practices and/or conditions.
- Report all injuries.
- Make suggestions to improve the safety program
- Required to identify and report any hazard(s) in their workplace
- Required to report any accidents, injuries requiring first aid, health care, lost time injuries, occupational diseases or incidents
- Use PPE as required
- Operate assigned equipment is a safe manner.
- Ensures safe and clean work environment maintained

- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Holds a valid AZ License
- Strong interpersonal skills / team orientation

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Temperatures;
Hot/cold environment. Wear appropriate PPE. Recognize the early signs of heat/cold stress. - Slippery ground/floor. Pieces of product, wood on the floor/wet floors inside trailer/plant. Ice and wet ground in inclement weather. Be aware of your surroundings, check tread on footwear and maintain good housekeeping in units.
- Ergonomic:
Potential awkward postures and heavy forces to lift and carry boxes of product. Know the amount of weight you are about to lift. Ask for assistance, if required, when the weight is too heavy. - Work areas have a potential for congestion and moving vehicles (forklifts, jitneys,…
