Overview

Find your future at Fastenal! Our distribution center is hiring energetic, team‑oriented individuals to work in our fast‑pace warehouse. As a part‑time picker, you will help facilitate the movement of product from our distribution center to company‑owned branches. When an order is placed by a branch you will pick the requested quantity, pack the order, and print a label with a routing number.

The product is then moved to the next department by hand, pallet jack, or forklift. Fastenal is committed to environmental protection and to providing a safe and healthy workplace for all employees. This is an entry‑level position based out of our distribution center located at 900 Wabanaki Dr, Kitchener, ON N2C 0B7.

The position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

• Pick orders and pack product efficiently and accurately
• Operate computer programs, RF scanners, and printers to label product
• Use a scale for weighing product
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the work area
• Comply with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectations
• Participate in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety and sustainability objectives
• Learn, pass, and practice various environmental health and safety trainings

• Proficient written and oral communication skills
• Highly motivated, self‑directed and customer‑service oriented
• Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
• Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
• Work independently as well as in a team environment
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule/extra time as needed

• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs
• Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam only)

• Prior experience operating a forklift
