Senior Electrical Engineer

Position: Senior Electrical Engineer at Rio Tinto
Embark on a pivotal career at Rio Tinto as a Senior Electrical Engineer in power generation at the Kemano Hydro Power Station. Engage in hands-on engineering initiatives while ensuring the reliability of critical hydroelectric assets.

This permanent, full-time role is based in Kitimat or Terrace, BC, with a Tuesday to Friday on-site schedule. You will lead engineering efforts supporting the Kemano facility during a significant rebuild of its generators, focusing on safety and asset performance. Your contributions will directly impact power generation reliability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Champion safety practices within engineering decisions

• Provide technical leadership to maintenance teams

• Maintain deep technical understanding of electrical systems

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for power performance

• Solve complex electrical operational issues

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering

• Registered or eligible for registration with EGBC

• Progressive electrical engineering experience

• Experience with diagnostic techniques for critical equipment

• Proficient in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
