Position: Chief Engineer Role BC
Drive engineering excellence as a Chief Engineer with a Leading Marine Services company in Kitimat, British Columbia. This position focuses on managing maintenance, safety protocols, and the development of junior staff within a complex maritime environment.

The Chief Engineer will lead engineering operations, oversee preventative maintenance, and ensure compliance with health and environmental policies. You'll manage machinery spaces, troubleshoot breakdowns, and collaborate with the Shore Engineering Team to maintain operational readiness.

Your role will also include mentoring junior engineers and conducting hazard assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct the engineering watch and machine space operations

• Troubleshoot and oversee maintenance activities

• Liaise with contractors, maintain oil and safety logs

• Mentor junior engineers and assess hazards

• Ensure compliance with anti-pollution protocols

Requirements:

• Valid 2nd Class Transport Canada Marine Motor certificate

• At least 5 years as an engineering officer on sizeable vessels

• In-depth knowledge of marine diesel and electrical systems

• Strong organizational and communication capabilities

• Openness to union membership application
