About the role:

The role provides technical support to Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and HSSE teams to help maintain safe and reliable operations. Responsibilities include monitoring plant performance, supporting troubleshooting activities, performing engineering calculations and analyses, investigating process issues, and contributing to root-cause investigations. The engineer will assist in maintaining operating envelopes for hydrocarbon facilities, water treatment systems, cooling water systems, potable water systems, and other utility infrastructure.

The position supports maintenance and turnaround activities by providing engineering input for equipment inspections, membrane replacement programs, chemical cleaning activities, solvent management, system reinstatement, and performance assessments. The role also contributes to the development and implementation of corrective actions aimed at improving plant reliability, efficiency, and safety.

In addition to supporting day-to-day operations, the engineer participates in brownfield projects and facility modifications by contributing technical evaluations, engineering studies, and design development activities. This includes assisting with feasibility assessments, data gathering, technical documentation, and the preparation of engineering deliverables under the guidance of more experienced engineers.

The role involves supporting the performance of water and wastewater treatment systems, refrigerant and condensate handling facilities, and LNG loading operations. The engineer will develop knowledge of water chemistry principles, operational constraints, equipment performance, and process optimization techniques while working closely with Operations and Engineering teams.

The engineer will utilize process monitoring, simulation, and digital tools to analyze plant performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and support operational decision-making. The role also participates in process safety activities including HAZOPs, risk assessments, safeguarding reviews, and other assurance processes to help maintain the integrity of company's facilities.

This position offers a strong development path within Process and Utilities Technology, providing opportunities to build technical expertise, develop engineering judgment, and gain experience across a wide range of LNG and utility systems. The role reports to the Head of Process & Utility Systems and works closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to support operational excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Always display strategic thinking in developing technical systems where tactical short-term decisions and constraints to (efficient) production are harnessed into ‘eternal learning loops’ mindset to develop and implement sustainable plans for LNG delivery to markets.
  • Develop strong working relationships within and outside your team, stakeholders to boost co-operation and a One Team approach transcending into multi-disciplinary delivery.
  • Utilize flexible and innovative thinking with well-developed problem-solving skills.
  • Having courage to hold strong to views when challenged or challenging others with clear value drivers to preserve long-term asset value.
  • Maintain a pragmatic ‘can-do’, ‘be there’ and ‘showing up’ approach and support other Asset functions in making sound business decisions during the streamlining and stabilization phases.
You will use your expertise to:
  • Support the monitoring and performance improvement of common hydrocarbon facilities and utility systems, working closely with senior engineers and licensors such as APCI, Linde, and Veolia.
