Elevate community planning efforts at the District of Kitimat as a Community Planner I. This full-time position involves managing development permits, public consultations, and providing expert advice on planning policies. As a Planner I, you will work under the guidance of the Director of Planning, focusing on both current and future projects.
Your role will involve processing development applications and collaborating with various stakeholders. Solid analytical and communication skills will help you succeed and contribute to Kitimat's growth.
Key Responsibilities- Process development permits, variances, and zoning applications
- Present planning reports to Kitimat Council and public
- Conduct research on land use and planning topics
- Liaise with public and other departments
- Represent planning interests at various committees
- Degree in community planning or equivalent
- Class 5/7N driver’s license
- RPP designation or eligibility
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and GIS software
- No prior experience required for Planner I
