Position: Second Engineer with Safety Focus
Join a dedicated engineering team as a Second Engineer located in Kitimat, BC, responsible for maintaining compliance and safety of vessel operations.

Your role includes oversight of mechanical and electrical systems while ensuring smooth daily operations.

In this position, you will assist the Chief Engineer by managing engine room activities, conducting maintenance, and maintaining safety compliance. You’ll also be pivotal in planning upgrades and conducting thorough inspections and assessments to uphold marine standards. Effective communication with crew and technical departments will be essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Stand watch in the engine room and ensure safety compliance

• Conduct maintenance inspections and troubleshooting

• Track inventory of spare parts and consumables

• Keep accurate logs for ISM compliance

• Participate in investigating incidents and take corrective actions

Requirements:

• Minimum 4th Class Engineer ticket required

• Five years of experience as a 2nd engineer

• Understanding of emergency equipment operation

• Ability to communicate clearly and resolve issues

• Team-oriented with a proactive mindset
