Position Summary
We are seeking a patient-centered and mission-driven Dentist (DDS/DMD) to provide full-scope dental services in a clinic setting under the direction of the Chief Dental Officer. This role delivers high-quality, cost-effective oral healthcare tailored to the diverse medical, social, and cultural needs of the patient population. The Dentist will conduct comprehensive examinations, provide preventive and restorative care, and practice within a relationship-based, team-oriented care model.
Responsibilities also include accurate clinical documentation, participation in chart reviews, and adherence to all regulatory and clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality dental care to patients of all socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds
- Diagnose and treat diseases, injuries, and abnormalities of the teeth, gums, and related oral structures
- Perform dental examinations using X-rays, mirrors, explorers, and other diagnostic instruments
- Clean, fill, extract, and restore teeth using appropriate dental instruments, appliances, medications, and surgical tools
- Design, fabricate, and place crowns, bridges, and other restorative dental structures
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans and sequence care appropriately
- Deliver direct dental care to clinic patients
- Supervise dental staff and support a collaborative clinical environment
- Maintain accurate, timely, and legally compliant dental records
- Develop and implement patient dental education programs aligned with accepted dental practices
- Participate in management, staff, and board-related meetings as appropriate
- Collaborate with administrative leadership, medical staff, and board committees to support organizational goals
- Ensure safety and security of the dental department in compliance with OSHA requirements
- Follow established protocols related to personnel, expenditures, and purchasing
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and ethical standards
- Participate in quality improvement and performance review activities
- Provide call coverage and inpatient care as required by contractual obligations
- Comply with all OSHA regulations and clinic safety standards
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD) from an accredited dental school (required)
- Preferred:
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a primary oral healthcare setting, ideally within underserved communities or an FQHC environment
- Active and unrestricted Oregon dental license (required)
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (required)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interact professionally and tactfully with patients, colleagues, and staff
- Proficiency with modern dental equipment, systems, and clinical procedures
- Strong understanding of legal, regulatory, administrative, and clinical standards related to community health center operations, particularly within FQHC settings
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical practice
- Cultural sensitivity and experience serving diverse populations
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed
