Position: Physician Assistant - OR

Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Physician Assistant to provide comprehensive primary care and health promotion services under the supervision of a physician. This role delivers high-quality, patient-centered care, including preventive services, diagnosis, treatment, and chronic disease management. The Physician Assistant will work within a collaborative, team-based clinical environment while upholding established clinical standards and supporting the organization's mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including preventive services, primary diagnosis, and treatment of minor illnesses and injuries

  • Monitor and manage chronic conditions in collaboration with the supervising physician

  • Perform or order appropriate laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic studies

  • Coordinate consultations and referrals for services not available within the clinic

  • Serve as a preceptor for providers in training as needed

  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements

  • Complete timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with clinic protocols

  • Conduct health education activities for individual patients and groups

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinic performance activities

  • Comply with OSHA regulations and all clinic safety standards

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Experience
  • Completion of a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and graduation from an accredited Family Physician Assistant program (required)

Qualifications
  • Active and unrestricted license to practice in the State of Oregon (required)

  • Current DEA registration and CPR certification (required)

  • Strong working knowledge of regulations, policies, protocols, and clinical standards related to health center licensing and operations, particularly within an FQHC environment

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative, team-based care model

  • Demonstrated commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical practice

  • Cultural sensitivity and experience working with diverse patient and staff populations

  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as required

  • Professional, pleasant, and patient-focused demeanor toward patients, colleagues, and leadership

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
