Position SummaryOregon Institute of Technology invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean of the College of Health, Arts & Sciences (HAS) – an opportunity to lead a college central to Oregon Tech’s mission to improve the human condition through knowledge, innovation, and service.
The College of Health, Arts & Sciences – Oregon Tech’s largest and most comprehensive academic unit – advances the university’s impact in health, science, and human service education through an extraordinary range of programs and partnerships. With more than 1,600 students and over 100 full-time faculty located across the Klamath Falls, Portland-Metro, and Salem campuses, HAS prepares graduates who strengthen Oregon’s communities through both expertise and empathy.

The college anchors Oregon Tech’s Rural Health Initiative and its aspiration to establish a College of Medicine, with a projected economic impact and a seamless pipeline from undergraduate study to professional practice.
QualificationsRequired
- Earned Ph.D. or other terminal degree in a discipline represented within the College or a closely related field.
- Credentials and experience meriting appointment as a tenured Full Professor.
- Minimum of five years of academic leadership experience at the level of Department Chair or higher.
- Proven history of academic leadership with effectiveness working with faculty, staff, students, and senior administrators.
- Experience in budgeting, fiscal management, and academic planning.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, grant acquisition, or external partnership development.
- Record of fostering a welcoming culture of belonging, civility, respect, and inclusion.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet institutional driving record requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to shape and implement a compelling vision uniting faculties across disciplines and campuses.
- Strong administrative and fiscal management skills; ability to set priorities, allocate resources, and ensure accountability.
