- Required: Medical Assistant Certification from AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT; AHA CPR certification required by the end of the month from 60 days of hire and maintained;

Effective oral and written communication;
Strict confidentiality of patient information. - Preferred: Demonstrated competence with the organization’s mission, vision, values, and strategic plan;
Ongoing completion of proficiency testing, skill demonstration, service excellence standards, and documentation review. - Licensure / Regulation / Certification: CMA (American Association of Medical Assistants), RMA (American Medical Technologists), CCMA (National Health Career Association), NCMA (National Center for Competency Testing).
Medium physical and mental demands. Ability to follow instructions, work independently and collaboratively with providers, patients, and staff; prioritize tasks; manage time efficiently; work within time constraints; remain calm under stress; excellent problem‑solving skills.
Essential Job Functions- Process and prepare patients for assessment and treatment by the medical clinician in a timely manner.
- Assist the medical clinician with office procedures.
- Daily sorting of incoming patient reports/results for the clinician’s review.
- Clean, maintain, and care for instruments, equipment, and work areas; prepare instruments for sterile processing.
- Send approved prescriptions, under clinician direction, to pharmacies or patients.
- Accurately administer injections, immunizations, or medications under clinician direction.
- Telephone counseling of patients under direct supervision of the clinician.
- Respond to patient calls promptly.
- Order and restock examination rooms with medical supplies.
- Schedule appointments for patient procedures and examinations and prioritize referrals.
- Accurate and timely documentation of all care, education, and conversations with patients.
- Obtain pertinent patient information and records for clinician referrals.
- Create a warm, caring environment for patients and staff.
- Show willingness to be flexible and adaptive to different situations with patients, clinicians, co‑workers, and leadership.
- Maintain competency in all position responsibilities.
- Preferred: As a certified medical assistant, train and mentor new medical assistants, sharing expertise and best practices to ensure their success.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
