Patient Access Rep - CHC Primary Care Clinic - FT DAYS
Sky Lakes Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Patient Access Representative to join our CHC Primary Care Clinic for full‑time day shifts. The role is crucial for patient focus, efficient workflow, and accurate data management.
Qualifications- Medical or clerical experience preferred.
- 50 wpm keyboard skills, excellent spelling, math, and problem‑solving.
- Filing, telephone, and data‑entry skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with patients, staff, and professionals.
- Prior knowledge of medical terminology and limited ICD‑9 coding is a plus.
- Fast, efficient pace; sit, stand, walk extended periods.
- Lift up to 40 pounds; push Wheelchair up to 250 pounds; assist patients in/out of chair or wheelchair.
- Good hearing and legible handwriting.
- Patient and visitor reception; direct patients to appropriate location.
- Verify insurance and billing information; process all insurance types.
- Audit charts daily for completeness and accuracy; complete follow‑ups within designated time.
- Prepare patient‑care paperwork promptly; maintain >95% accuracy.
- Contact repair when office equipment needs maintenance.
- Work closely with ancillary clinical departments and physician offices.
- Attend meetings; support division directions and communicate improvements with supervisor.
- Train and orient new clerical staff.
- Communicate effectively in person and telephone; work with variety of personalities.
- Handle stress and pressure; make decisions.
- Understand, support, and comply with Sky Lakes Medical Center philosophy, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain competency in all responsibilities.
- Demonstrate mission, vision, values, and strategic plan competencies through core standards.
- Demonstrate awareness of age‑specific, cultural, spiritual, and functional status practices for customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
