Operations Manager
Position Purpose
The Continuous Improvement Manager (CIM) is a highly visible position reporting to the Plant Manager. This individual will be responsible for facilitating continuous improvement and lean efforts, training, implementing, and sustaining improvement activities. Previous experience working in a lean or continuous improvement environment is a must. This individual will work directly with front line leadership and mill management to improve productivity, quality, and safety, and to implement standard work.
They will oversee 5‑S events, daily management system boards, and problem‑solving teams.
Must have significant previous experience working with and implementing continuous improvement and lean principles. Must have a working knowledge of problem‑solving techniques such as C4’s. Must have previous experience with Kaizen events, 5‑S, daily management systems, job instruction training, facilitating improvements with line management, and coaching. Bachelor’s degree preferred, but we will consider equivalent experience or combination of education and experience.
PreferredSupervisory/leadership experience preferred, especially in wood products/plywood/veneer or in Shipping.
