Unity Resourcing are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller / Finance Manager to join a successful and growing organisation based in Knaresborough.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional to take ownership of an established finance function while playing a key role in supporting future growth. Reporting into senior leadership, you'll be responsible for financial reporting, controls, budgeting, forecasting and delivering valuable commercial insight to support strategic decision-making.
Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you'll ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain robust controls, drive continuous improvement and develop a small finance team. This role would suit a hands‑on individual who enjoys balancing the detail of day‑to‑day finance with a broader commercial perspective.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the day‑to‑day finance function
- Producing monthly management accounts and financial reporting
- Budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
- Maintaining strong financial controls and reconciliations
- Supporting year‑end accounts, audits and statutory reporting
- Developing KPI reporting and management information
- Identifying process improvements and automation opportunities
- Mentoring and supporting junior finance team members
- Partnering with senior stakeholders to support business performance and growth
About You
- ACCA or CIMA or equivalent qualified
- Previous experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar role
- Strong management accounting, budgeting and forecasting experience
- Excellent financial control and reconciliation skills
- Advanced Excel and accounting systems knowledge
- Experience leading, mentoring or developing team members
- Able to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non‑finance stakeholders
