Mechanical Maintenance Fitter

On behalf of our client near Knaresborough , we are recruiting a Mechanical Fitter to join a Waste Treatment Plant on a full-time basis , initially for 3 months . You will support the Mechanical Maintenance Team and Lead Engineer, carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance , fault-finding, fabrication work, and assisting with planned outages while maintaining high health, safety, and quality standards.

Shift Pattern Week 1:
Mon Fri, 8am4pm Week 2:
Mon Fri, 10pm6am Key Duties Maintain and repair conveyor belts, pumps, gearboxes, valves, and cranes Carry out fabrication and workshop duties Complete PPM and reactive maintenance Use CMMS systems and support maintenance KPIs Follow all H&S, quality, and environmental procedures Requirements Time-served Mechanical Fitter Mechanical Apprenticeship NVQ Level 3 / BTEC in Maintenance Engineering or equivalent

Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, fabrication, and mechanical drawings Strong understanding of safe systems of work IOSH Managing Safely (desirable)
