Salary: £20,021.63 – £23,049.00 (Term Time) | £26,339.56 – £30,732.00 (Full Year Equivalent)

Due to the continued growth and expansion of Summergil House School, we are delighted to be recruiting Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated and supportive team. Summergil House School is a specialist setting in Presteigne, set within 18 acres of beautiful countryside including woodlands, lakes, and outdoor learning spaces. We support children with autism and complex needs in a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where small class sizes and strong relationships make a real difference every day.

Your Role as a Teaching Assistant
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, working closely with teachers and the wider team to ensure every child feels supported, understood, and encouraged to succeed.
You will:
Support pupils in the classroom on a 1:1 and small group basis
Assist teachers with lesson delivery, planning, and learning activities
Provide tailored support to pupils with autism and complex needs
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and independence
Support daily routines, transitions, and personal care when required
Help organise and take part in engaging off-site and outdoor activities
What We’re Looking For:
At least 12 months’ experience in a similar role (desirable)
Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication
A patient, resilient, and enthusiastic approach to supporting children
Experience in SEN is welcomed but not essential — full training and support will be provided.
