Staff Accountant

Coulter & Justus, PC, a Knoxville based CPA firm, is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our expanding Client Accounting Services and Business Insights (CASBI) Department. With Coulter & Justus having one of the largest Tax and A&A practices in East Tennessee, our CASBI Department has ample opportunities to provide accounting services to clients in a variety of industries. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our team and support our accounting operations.

• Transactional accounting (Bank feed entering/posting)
• Prepare and post journal entries for month-end close
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Assist with new client onboarding and clean up projects
• Assist in preparing financial statements and reports
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies
• Participate in process improvement initiatives

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1–3 years of accounting experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and peers
• Ability to work in a paperless environment
• Quick Books® experience preferred but not required
