Staff Accountant

• Pay Range: starting at $50k, depending on experience

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a growing Knoxville-area organization to identify a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant
. This position offers the opportunity to join a collaborative accounting team where you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close activities, and contributing to the company's overall financial success.

Typical responsibilities for Staff Accountants include journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close support, financial reporting assistance, and audit preparation.

• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
• Maintain fixed asset, prepaid expense, and accrual schedules
• Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports
• Analyze account activity and investigate variances
• Assist with internal and external audit requests
• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and GAAP
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial operations
• Identify process improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1+ years of accounting experience preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP functions
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
