What is the opportunity?
Reporting to the Director, Materials Management, your Purchasing Manager expertise will help us produce world-class heating and boiler solutions for our clients. Specifically, by coordinating, organizing, and overseeing all activities involved in the identification, acquisition, production, and distribution of the company's goods. This is not a remote role, the role will be based in Morristown, TN. Requires at least 30-40% travel between our two locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned.
- Manages the supply chain and purchasing functions for Vapor Power's two divisions/locations.
- Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain.
- Develop an appropriate supply chain strategy to maximize production effectiveness and customer satisfaction at the lowest possible cost.
- Leads the supply chain team in executing best practices and measuring performance through agreed upon Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Directs and coordinates global supply chain functions through strategy, profitability maximization, and KPIs resulting in the maximization of customer satisfaction.
- Plans, manages, and coordinates all activities related to the sourcing and procurement of necessary materials and supplies needed to meet the changing levels of product demand.
- Develop an effective supplier base that minimizes cost and maximizes quality and responsiveness.
- Develop and align Supply Chain's KPIs to support overall strategic goals.
- Develop and implement best-in-class purchasing and material planning processes to support KPIs.
- Train, develop, and mentor teams to provide promo table candidates for succession planning.
- Monitor and adjust plans and forecasts via monthly, quarterly, and annual process with other department heads.
