Pay Range: $22–$27/hour (based on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in Knoxville. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about accuracy, compliance, and delivering excellent internal service.

Key Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll for multi-state employees using payroll software.
• Maintain and audit payroll records to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Handle employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and timekeeping.
• Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations.
• Prepare and distribute payroll reports for internal stakeholders.
• Assist with year-end processes including W-2s and tax filings.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a high-volume environment.
• Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, Paycom).
• Strong understanding of payroll laws and tax regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• High School Diploma or GED required;
  Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plus.
