Overview
Construction Supervisor
Seeking a qualified candidate for Construction Supervisor position, working the larger Knoxville Market (East Tennessee Region). The Construction Supervisor position will oversee a team of internal and external crews, performing fiber and coax placement tasks. Operations will include underground, aerial, and splicing activities. Experience in the Telco / CATV / FTTH industry is required. Day to day tasks will involve scheduling crews, preparing construction packets, working from the field providing support and ensuring safety and quality, and post-construction documentation support (As Built, Invoicing).
The work described above will support a major Fiber/CATV Customer local to the Knoxville area.
- Oversee both internal and external crews performing fiber and coax installation, including underground, aerial, and splicing operations
- Schedule crews, prepare construction packets, provide hands‑on field support, ensure strict adherence to safety and quality standards, and manage post‑construction documentation such as as‑builts and invoicing
- Develop the team's skill set and knowledge of fiber and coax installation, including underground, aerial, and splicing operations
- Lead by example and support the company‑wide safety culture
- Drive the team to meet deadlines and produce quality projects
- Provide a high level of customer service when interfacing with customers
- Give direction to multiple crews and their job site activities
About You:
- You must have experience in the telecom, CATV, or FTTH industries
- Safety is a part of your day‑to‑day
- You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality
- You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands‑on approach to your work
- You are looking for long‑term projects
- You enjoy getting your hands dirty with your team
- You are an experienced leader who supported the day‑to‑day needs of a construction crew
- You know the telecom construction industry (Coax Splicing, Fiber Splicing, Directional Drilling, map reading, etc.)
- You enjoy problem‑solving and like to troubleshoot problems as they arise in the field
- You embrace the challenge of coaching and mentoring your team
- You have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn custom software
MOS Codes 12H, 12N, 25W, 91X, 2549, 2591 relate well to this position.
Compensation$65,000 to $80,000 annually, depending on experience.
